Cuz it would be kinda unfair for the losing player to lose again because the lost RPS again.

Just get better at RPS.also in a match, you dont play RPS after game 1, the loser picks, you only play RPS in round 2 if you are doing singles.

It's basically a die roll or coin flip

The point of rps is to "randomly" decide who goes first. It will never be "more skillful" than that

Do you actually think RPS is random?

Why do you think I put them in quotes? You're playing a luck based game, and winning rps against a random person is mostly luck. Turn order should be decided by skill

That would be the point of RPS single over best of 3.

RPS does require skill though, in fact there are strategies that get you more wins, which means youll be going first more often, which in most decks, means youre winning more. Just google "RPS strategies" or "RPS Psychology" People at higher levels are using these techs, i think farfa even did a video about it.

What's wrong with changing it to a coin toss to make things faster?

People complaining about weighted odds when it is just confirmation bias.

Yet nobody seems to have an issue with "weighted odds" when for years people have been resolving coin effects like Cup of Ace and dice effects like Number 85: Crazy Box.

Because barely any players use random effects.

It isn't just effects that are random. Randomness also plays a role in shuffling the deck and whatnot. Nobody complains about weighted odds when the next card drawn is the worst card, or that their opponent happens to top deck just the right card needed due to sheer luck.

Because odds in those cases are really small and dont happen all the time. You can top deck the best/worst card every so often, but it doesnt happen in every single duel, and the odds arent as high as a regular coin flip.

It kinda does happen all the time in every single duel though. Every card you draw will either help you win or not help you win, and players are drawing a lot in every duel, like drawing the first 5 cards for the opening hand, plus an additional card for whoever's going second, and so on. When you're drawing good, nobody complains that the shuffling system is unfairly favoring you, and when players are drawing poorly, there aren't widespread complaints that the shuffling system is "against" them.
In other words, more time is spent drawing than flipping coins or rolling dice.
