Dueling Book Main Menu, as lore heavy as it lawless it has been the place of many a meme and copy pasta.
As I look at the long wall of status posts I find myself reflecting specifically on all the particularly bad experiences. Now frankly I'm hardly on MM enough, to justify a critic I mostly keep to myself posting an occasional bad joke into the ether that is the neon cyberlike wallpaper background.
I've seen everything from people cosplaying as food to defending war criminals such as but not limited to stun players. But the question becomes should MM continue to allow comments if bad behaviour continues to avoid punishment?
Yes. Of course it's a yes. With the internet becoming increasingly sterile I think it's given that we should encourage and remind ourselfs that everyone is bad and that there no good people EVER. Except when there are.
Tell me how many times to do you go outside? that's right! Never! We are sweaty, stinky people whom are squinting at screen at 3am when really we should just jack off and go to sleep. But there are those whom derive a different type of pleasure.
MM trolls, outlaws and ban evaders from rescue-acists to traptix art "enjoyers" have long existed on db. Ranging from problematic to how the actually f**k are you not banned... harassing users on and sometimes even off db, sharing both annoying and unsettling comments the list goes on.
With the lack of judging staff online, MM basically becomes a Gozen Match stand-off with the users facing harassment simply having to report the account and wait. So what we do about that? Block them. that's it. Block them. If they try to evade block them again. But that only stops you seeing them and doesn't stop them from harassing others.
So what do we actually do. What's the solution? Report the account, Block them, and when they pop up again double down and inform the populous with warning post. What? not the solution you hoping for. Well I do have one idea....
Rare "Bounty" Hunters. Yes, enlist the help of volunteers users to exact R- Righteous Justice on problematic players, have them choose from a pinned bounty board on MM and pay them in dono codes. Well how would we filter out any people seemingly wanting to do this maliciously?
Well the bounty board takes care of that for the most part, with db staff I.G. judge stuff picking the bounties. But if you want to go a step farther just have them take a mini judge exam... Nothing as large as the real one but have the questions be unbelievable difficult.
In do so you narrow down the list to two types of people extremely dedicated but petty people with no life (me) and those whom don't really wanna judge but really want these evaders and trolls gone (everyone else).
But what do you think about all this? I ask that you ask yourself, do I want these g-hoppers off my deck or am I ok with sharing type space with a Mystic Mine apologist? and table your thoughts to Mr. Universe. That's you Steven.
At the end of the day we're all here doing the same thing, posting on the Main Menu of a 3rd party Yu-Gi-Oh client like it's reddit, twitter and tumbler all at the same time while living through the DC Crisis Event that is the current state of the world.
