NoodleMunch | #1 | Tue Sep 10, 2024 1:42 PM | Delete | I recently had a very unpleasant experience with an opponent which resulted in an unfair freezing of my account.
During a recent match after winning game 1, my opponent subjected me to unsportsmanlike behavior and abusive language. While I was taking appropriate time to side deck for the next game, my opponent accused me of delaying the game and threatened to call a judge. I responded that I would wait for a judge to address the situation.
Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to explain my side of the story before the judge made the decision to freeze my account. I believe my opponent may have been attempting to frame me unfairly, as their username, 'Softcheating,' suggests a potential bias.
I believe my actions were within the rules, and I was simply responding to the hostility directed at me.
Has anyone else had similar exepriences? |

Your opponent called judge cause you were not going fast enough and they wanted you to speed up. Your response to this is to stop play entirely. No matter how you coat that this is a very malicious practice. “Oh ur accusing me of going slow or want me to go faster? Im gonna stop playing completely now” |

You've reframed the situation wrong completely.
Complete hypocrisy then called the judge to try and say I was taking time?
Don't quite understand how abusive, toxic and poor sportsmanship is allowed to prevail? |

So it wasn't you taking time siding that got you into trouble, but rather you putting said siding completely on hold in order to wait. |

Yet I do not think a freeze was necessary in your case. You have been unfrozen. in the future please take these issues to ban appeals and leave it there. |

Yes, I stopped after my opponent decided to call the judge because my opponents behaviour was unsportsman like and unjust to hypocritically take time in siding to continue to abuse me and then call a judge on me, in bad faith, to accuse me of the very thing they were doing. I felt it was necessary to wait for the judge to explain what was going on rather than being framed unjustly. I only stopped once they took the action of calling a judge in bad faith. I also stated to my opponent that I felt it was necessary to wait for the judge to explain my side of the story.
Moving forward, If I experience a similar situation I'll just continue with the game whilst waiting for a judge and only stop to explain my side of the events once the judge appears.
I'll also add that nobody should have to experience displays of abuse and poor sportsmanship directed at them like that. I could have called the judge myself to call out my opponents behaviour but I was happy to continue with the game. However, I know there are much younger kids who play on this platform (my 7 y/o daughter was also with me watching me play) who could be effected by recieving that behaviour and it should be stomped out. |

I'll take that feedback onboard. Thank you. |
