Tournament Organizer Hiring Wave July 2019

Post #1 by Runzy » Mon Jul 08, 2019 4:31 pm

We are now Looking to Hire official Tournament hosts to host official Duelingbook tournaments.

What is a Tournament Organizer(TO) & Goal

Tournament Organizers are the face of tournaments on Duelingbook and host tournaments for users who play on the site to participate in and have fun on their own free time.

The Goal is to build a Team that can host weekly to the point where daily tournaments are commonplace.

What are the requirements to Become a Tournament Organizer?

1.) A positive Duelingbook history (This means not having been frozen or not having any negative history for a long time)

2.) A More than average understanding of the rules and mechanics of the game along with KDE policy(This includes PSCT comprehension and an understanding of conjunctions and ability to find information quickly on the ready)

3.) Able to host at least 2 times a week and have 3-4 hours available when you do host.

4.) A sense of urgency

5.) Be able to communicate and work with a team other Tournament organizers are your partners and you should all listen to what each other has to say.

6.) Don't be afraid of asking for help (when you don't understand something the ability to ask for help is essential it's not something you should be ashamed of) Even judges don't know everything and we look to each other for assistance the same goes for The tournament organizers.

What is to be expected of you?

1.) Be active not only as a host but on Duelingbook as well let that community know you are there and that you are fun.

2.) Be willing to lend assistance to listen to requests from users about their unofficial tournaments and give advice or even offer to help them host it or judge it.

3.) Be respectful. I cannot stress this enough but you need to be respectful to not only users but other staff as well. As a TO you are held to a higher standard than regular users and that should reflect when you host and engage with users.

4.) Don't disappear. If you for some reason are unable to host for an extended period Let us know so we can take appropriate measures.

5.) You must be able to use Discord 90% of Tournament dealings are done through Our official Duelingbook discords and the forums serve as an archive of events.
