The goal of this thread is to show case 1 custom card each week for EXISTING anime decks.
What this means is decks that are released in the OCG/TCG that are used in the Yugioh Anime for example, I'd make a card around Mai Valentine's Harpies by creating 1 custom card that would assist the deck in some way.
So to kick things off we have Accel Resonator for Jack Atlas! Here: https://www.duelingbook.com/card?id=5047193
Accel Resonator
Level 1
ATK 100
DEF 0

Effect/Tuner
If this card is in your hand (Quick Effect): You can target 1 "Red Dragon Archfiend" you control; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 DARK Dragon Synchro Monster using only this card you control and that target. You can only activate the effect of "Accel Resonator" once per turn.
This card not only gives RDA players another search target via Crimson Gaia, but also a cute way to tag out Scarred for another Dark Dragon Synchro of choice then potentially wipe the opponent's board via Scarred's own effect!
Yes I know this can be used to bring out Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity on opponent's turn, but that's the point. It's fine for RDA itself to calamity lock the opponents!

Hop Ear Squadron can also quick effect special itself from hand on the opponent's turn for an immediate synchro summon.
Anyways, your monster's text can be shortened from:

If this card is in your hand, you can (Quick Effect): Send 1 "Red Dragon Archfiend" you control and this card to the GY; Special Summon 1 DARK Dragon Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. (This is treated as a Synchro Summon.) You can only use this effect of "Accel Resonator" once per turn.
The important thing is to make it clear whether the Red Dragon Archfiend is being sent for activation cost or for effect, since you use the word "to" which was commonly used to indicate activation costs before Konami moved to semi-colons for that.
Also keep in mind that neither your monster's current effect, nor this new effect I propose, will trigger Scarred Dragon Archfiend's "then, if this card was sent to the GY as Synchro Material" condition since both are worded to send to the graveyard as part of an activation cost/effect, not as synchro material. If you want your effect to do that specifically, you'll need to word it like Hop Ear Squadron where the monster quick effect specials itself from hand then immediately synchro summons with itself and the Red Dragon Archfiend.
Other than that, attributes like DARK are written in all caps, and the word Monster, when using it right after Normal, Effect, Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, or Link, is always capitalized.

yeah it's been a hot minute since I made any customs, just adapted the card to work like Hop Ear @.@

For week 2 we have Aquaactress that is used by Allie from Yugioh Arc V!
https://www.duelingbook.com/card?id=5052830
Aquaactress Beta
Level 3
1200 ATK
1200 DEF
WATER
Aqua
Effect
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can activate 1 "Aquarium" Continuous Spell directly from your Deck, and if you do, you can Special Summon 1 "Aquaactress" monster from your Deck. You can only use the effect of Aquaactress Beta" once per turn. While you control an "Aquarium" Continuous Spell, Aqua monsters cannot be targeted by your opponent's effects.
Artwork by: https://www.deviantart.com/torracatdemoncoas/art/Aquaactress-Fantail-Artwork-1082075130
Now this was a bit hard to make, because what can you do for a deck that does nothing and only has 6 cards? So I thought what about help getting them started? I thought about making another Aquarium spell, but this one be a field spell, but that wouldn't work as Aquarium Stage exists, so I thought about it it from the monster standpoint and it clicked a bit better, but honestly needs a lot more than just 1 card.

You can remove the word "directly" from the effect.
Take a look at Performapal Sky Magician which has similar wording. See how that monster doesn't say:
"activate Continuous Spell directly from your hand"
and just says:
"activate Continuous Spell from your hand"
You can also remove "card" from "opponent's card effects" since plenty of texts say "opponent's effect" without a "card" in between.
Lastly, you need to put that deviantart link in [ url ] tags or else it will cut off.

Necroworld Banshee's text was used for the first effect. I also recall seeing some more modern cards use "directly from your Deck" when it comes to placing spells/traps onto the field the latest card that used "directly" was Emblema Oath https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Emblema_Oath which was released on November 16th 2023, so unless there's a card that is more recent than that that is either released in the TCG or the TCG text was revealed for an upcoming set, I cannot change it I do hope you understand.

Konami does in fact flip flop back and forth from time to time when it comes to PSCT — sometimes they find and implement a shorter way to word something in order to reduce the space a card's text takes up, only to temporarily revert back — but nowadays they don't do that as often.
Still, it's generally good practice to word in ways that take up the least amount of text on your card, regardless of Konami's strange decisions. You want your texts to be readable and easy on the eyes after all.
If you want a recent card for proof that there's no need for "directly" in such effects, take a look at Maliss <P> White Rabbit. See how that card says to "Set 1 "Maliss" Trap from your Deck" without including "directly," even though a slightly older card with a similar effect — Unchained Soul of Sharvara — included that word.

What I don't feel works for the effect is using "activate" over "place." It's rare for cards to activate from the deck and I don't think any of the Aquariums have on activation effects.

You are absolutely correct, none of the Aquarium cards have on activation effects.
The way the custom card is worded is just in case Konami ever makes a new Aquarium card that does have one.

For this week, I decided to do something a bit differently. But first Dark Worlds!
You might be typing "But Renji! That isn't an anime deck!" and I'll say, yes it is, we saw it in Yugioh GX when Bronn, Mad King of Dark World was playing the deck, so it counts!
Now as for what I did differently, this card was completely made by an AI known as Grok on Twitter (aka X) just to see what it would come up with and do note that I won't do this often, just every once in awhile if I feel like it.
Abyss Tome of Dark World
Normal Spell
If you control a "Dark World" monster: You can discard 1 card, then add 1 "Dark World" card from your Deck to your hand. If this card is discarded to the GY by a card effect: You can target 1 "Dark World" monster in your GY; Special Summon that target. You can only use each effect of "Abyss Tome of Dark World" once per turn.
Whether the deck needs another card to search is a completely different debate.
Also Grok tried to give it flavor text, which I didn't include in the above because it is obvious: The forbidden tome that beckons the dark, where every word uttered seals a pact with the abyss.
Card: https://www.duelingbook.com/card?id=5065865
As for the artwork used, it was one of the artworks Grok provided (on it's own without me asking) and I can't exactly as far as I know link the artwork itself.
