Yugioh Archtype Concept: Noxstella

Attributes: Light/Dark (Chaos baby, YEAH!)

Foreword: I am not a card designer, I am just some idiot who stays up far too late and drinks too much Sprite (the soda, not the Monster Archetype. Although I wonder what flavor they’d taste like? Red would probably be cherry…)

Ignore my sleep deprived rambles, I’ve been up since 5 AM this morning. Anyways, I’ve wanted to have this as my first post since I’m not getting any real traction from just posting Google Docs. So here we go, an Archetype concept for you all to enjoy.

Playstyle: This is something for the modern day, Fusion Summon based, focuses on Fusion climbing by banishing Monsters from the hand, field, and from the GY. All the main deck monsters have effects when used as Fusion Materials for Fusion monsters that are given to the monster that is Fusion Summoned. Its main Boss Monsters are probably the most fun ones I’ve designed yet, but harder to summon than usual, known as Noxstella White Star Leviathan and Noxstella Black Void Behemoth.

I won’t spoil its true final boss monster in this intro, I’m saving him for later.

Name Origin: Nox (or Nyx) was the god of the Night in Greek Mythology. Stella is another word for star or well… Stellar Bodies.

Strengths: It’s a Fusion Summon deck with Light and Dark monsters, banishing for Fusion… so Chaos stuff is useful here. Heck, you could even use Bystials and Branded to support you by recycling resources. It does synergize well with Tears, as all the Noxstella Monsters extra effects need to do to be active on the Noxstella Fusion Monster is to just be fused into the monster, not banished.

(I hate Tears, but they are good for a reason)

Weaknesses: Just as this deck wins HARD with Bystials, This deck also loses HARD to Bystials, and it really wants you to play the full (or at least a decently sized) package of their cards as their Additive effects to Fusion Monsters only work on their Fusions only, nothing else. Not to mention some of their backrow work best with their Fusion Monsters on field. So the Archetype is a little selfish, and resource management is key as it’s MUCH harder to get cards out of the banish zone than it is out of the GY. You have cards that do it here and ways to search them out, but Ash Blossom exists.

Constructive Criticism please, don’t just say “Deck bad”.

Main Deck:

Noxstella Umbra Imp

Level 2 Dark Fiend Monster

500 Attack/500 Defense

Effect: When this card is Normal or Special summoned, you can add to your hand or send to the GY one Noxstella Monster. If you do, You cannot summon monsters from the extra deck, except Dark Monsters. If this card is used as Fusion Material for a Noxstella Monster, that Monster gains this effect. You can only use each effect once per turn.

(This monster gains 500 Attack and Defense.)

Noxstella Star Devil

Level 2 Dark Fiend Monster

400 Attack/400 Defense

Effect: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add to your hand or send to the GY one Noxstella Spell/Trap. If you do, you cannot special summon from the extra deck, except Dark monsters. If this card is used as Fusion material for a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(Once per turn, (Quick Effect) you can target one Spell/Trap on the field, Destroy it, then send one card from your hand to the GY.)

Noxstella Meteor Spawn

Level 2 Dark Fiend Monster

400 Attack/400 Defense

Effect: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can special summon one Noxstella monster that is banished or in your GY in defense mode, but it’s banished during the end phase. If you do, you cannot summon from the extra deck, except Dark Monsters. If this card is used as Fusion material for the fusion summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(Once per turn, (Quick Effect) you can target one monster your opponent controls, destroy it, then send one card in your hand to the GY)

Noxstella Comet Screecher

Level 4 Dark Fiend Monster

1500 Attack/500 Defense

(Quick Effect) You can special summon this card from your GY by banishing one Dark Monster from your hand or Field. When this card is Special summoned, you can Banish one Dark monster from your GY, Special summon one dark monster from your deck in Defense Position, but it’s banished during the end phase. You can only use each effect once per turn. If this card is used as fusion material for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(When a Monster effect is activated by your opponent, (Quick Effect) you can send one card from your hand to the GY to negate that effect and banish that monster until the end of the next turn.)

Noxstella Gas Squid

Level 4 Dark Aqua Monster

1600 Attack/400 Defense

You can special summon this card by banishing 1 Noxstella monster from your hand, field or GY. When this card is special summoned, you can banish one Noxstella Spell/Trap from your GY, set one Noxstella Spell/Trap directly from your deck, it can be activated this turn. If this card is used as Fusion Material for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect. You can only use each effect once per turn.

(When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card (Quick Effect) you can send one card from your hand to the GY to negate that Spell/Trap and banish it until the end of the next turn.)

Noxstella Stardust Starfish

Level 4 Light Aqua Monster

1300 Attack/1000 Defense

Effect: You can special summon this card by banishing 1 Noxstella monster from your hand, field or GY. When this card is special summoned, you can target one card your opponent controls, banish it. If this card is used as Fusion Material for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect. You can only use each effect once per turn.

(Your opponent cannot activate cards in response to this cards effects)

Noxstella White Dwarf Dragon

Level 8 Light Dragon Monster

1500 Attack/3000 Defense

Effect: You can special summon this card by banishing 2 Noxstella monsters from your hand, field, or GY. While this card is face up in the field, Noxstella Monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card is banished, you can special summon it in defense position with its effects negated. You can only use each effect once per turn. If this card is used for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(This card cannot be destroyed by card effects)

Noxstella Black Dwarf Behemoth

Level 8 Dark Dragon Monster

3000 Attack/1500 Defense

Effect: You can special summon this card by banishing 2 Noxstella Monsters from your hand, Field, or GY. When this card is Special Summoned, (Quick Effect) you can tribute this card, destroy all Attack Position Monsters on the field and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the highest attack among them. If this card is used as fusion material for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(This card cannot be destroyed by battle)

Noxstella Chaos Core

Level 8 Light Rock Monster

0 Attack/3000 Defense

You can banish 1 Light and one Dark Monster from your hand, field, or GY, Special summon this card from your hand. While this card is face up on the field (Quick effect) you can Fusion Summon one Light or Dark Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing monsters from both sides of the field (at least one from each), but you cannot special summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Light or Dark Monsters. If this card is used as fusion material for the Fusion Summon of a Noxstella Monster, that monster gains this effect.

(If this card were to leave the field by an opponents card effect, you can negate the effects of all face up cards your opponent controls.)

Noxstella Nebula Archfiend

Level 6 Dark Fiend Fusion Monster.

2000 Attack/2000 Defense

1 Noxstella Monster + 1 or more Light or Dark Monster

Effect: This card gains effects based on the Noxstella Monsters used in its fusion summon. Once per turn, you can send one card from your hand to the GY, add one Noxstella Monster from your GY to your hand. If this card were to be destroyed and sent to the GY, you can set one Noxstella Spell/Trap from your deck, it can be activated this turn, but it is banished when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect once per turn.


Noxstella Protostar Kraken

Level 8 Light Fiend Fusion Monster

2500 Attack/2500 Defense

1 Noxstella Monster + 2 Light or Dark Monsters

Effect: When This card is fusion summoned, it gains effects based on what Noxstella monsters were used as Fusion materials, once per turn, you can target one Spell or Trap that is banished or in your GY, set it to your field, it can be activated this turn. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY, Special summon one Noxstella monster from the GY except Noxstella Protostar Kraken, but it’s banished when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella True Star Roc

Level 8 Light Winged Beast Fusion Monster

2700 Attack/1700 Defense

1 Noxstella Monster + 2 Light or Dark Monsters

Effect: When this card is fusion summoned, it gains effects based on what Noxstella monsters were used as Fusion Materials. (Quick Effect) you can banish one card from you hand to target one card your opponent controls, negate its effects until the end of this turn. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY, you can banish one Noxstella Monster, shuffle it back into the extra deck during the end phase. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella White Star Leviathan

Level 10 Light Sea Serpent Fusion Monster

2500 Attack/3500 Defense

Noxstella White Dwarf Dragon + 2 Or more Light or Dark Monsters

Effect: Must be Fusion Summoned, When this card is Fusion Summoned, This card gains effects based on the Noxstella Monsters used as Fusion Material. If this card would be sent to the GY by an opponents card effect, you can destroy all Spells/Traps on the field during the end phase, Then Special Summon one Noxstella White Dwarf Dragon in Defense Position that is banished or in your GY. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella Black Void Behemoth

Level 10 Dark Dragon Fusion Monster

Noxstella Black Dwarf Dragon + 2 or More Light or Dark Monsters

3500 Attack/2500 Defense

Effect: Must be fusion Summoned. When this card is Fusion Summoned, it gains effects based on the Noxstella monsters used as Fusion Material. If this card is sent to the GY by an opponents card effect. Destroy all Special summoned monsters your opponent controls during the end phase, then Special summon one Noxstella Black Dwarf Dragon in Attack Mode that is banished or in your GY. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella Ultima Chaos Worldeater

Level 12 Dark Wyrm Fusion Monster

Noxstella White Dwarf Dragon + Noxstella Black Dwarf Dragon + Noxstella Chaos Core + 2 or more Light or Dark Monsters

Must be Fusion summoned and cannot be summoned by other means. When this card is Fusion Summoned, It gains effects based on the Noxstella Monsters were used as Fusion Material. This card gains Attack and Defense x1000 For every Light or Dark Monster used in its Fusion Summon. If this card were to leave the field by an opponents card, banish all Monsters on your opponents field or GY that were Special summoned from the Extra Deck during the end phase, then you can Special Summon one Noxstella Chaos Core that is banished or in your GY. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Spells/Traps

Noxstella Accretion Ring

Field Spell

When this card is activated, you can add one Noxstella Spell/Trap to your hand. When a Noxstella monster(s) is banished for the summon of a Fusion Monster, you can instead shuffle those monsters into your deck, and if you do, You cannot special summon from the extra deck for the rest of this turn, except Light or Dark Monsters. All Noxstella Monsters gain 500 Attack and Defense while this card is face up on the field. If this card is destroyed, you can banish one Noxstella Spell/Trap from your GY, add this card to your hand during the end phase. You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella Star Fusion

Normal Spell

Fusion Summon one Light or Dark Fusion Monster by banishing monsters from your hand, field, or GY, or if your opponent controls 1 or more monsters Special summoned from the Extra Deck, you can banish up to 3 monsters from your deck as well. You cannot special summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Light or Dark Monsters. You can only use this effect once per turn.

Noxstella Planet Fusion

Fusion Summon one Light or Dark Fusion Monster by banishing monsters from your hand or field, or if your opponent controls 1 or more monsters special summoned from the extra deck, you can use monsters from their field instead. You cannot special summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Light or Dark Monsters. You can only use this effect once per turn.

Noxstella Chaotic Birth

Quick Play Spell

If The opponent controls 2 or more monsters Special Summoned from the extra deck, you can Fusion Summon one Light or Dark Fusion Monster from your extra deck, using monsters from your deck as Fusion material, Then lose life points equal to the number of monsters used x500. If you control a Noxstella Fusion Monster, This effect cannot be negated. You cannot Special Summon for the rest of this turn after this card is used. You can only use this effect once per turn.

Noxstella Origin Point

Continuous Spell

When this card is activated, you can add 1 Noxstella Monster to your hand from the GY or is Banished. If a card is banished by card effect, you can place the banished card(s) on the bottom of the deck, draw 1 card, then send one card from your hand to the GY. You can only use the first effect once per turn.

Noxstella Space Cyclone

Normal Spell

When this card is activated, destroy Spell/Trap cards your opponent controls up to the number of Monsters on your field. If you control a Noxstella Fusion Monster, your opponent cannot activate effects in response to this cards activation. You can only use this effect once per turn.

Noxstella Eclipse

Normal Trap

When a card or effect is activated that targets a Noxstella card you control, you can activate this card, target and banish one monster or Spell/Trap from your opponents field, If you control a Noxstella Fusion Monster, you can banish one card from your opponent's hand (chosen at random). You can only use each effect once per turn.

Noxstella Solar Flare

Counter Trap

When a card or effect is activated while you control a Noxstella Monster, you can activate this card, negate the activation and if you do, destroy it. If you control a Noxstella Fusion Monster, you can activate this the turn it was set. You can only use this effect once per turn.

Noxstella Space-Time Rift

Continuous Trap

While this card is face up on the field while you control a Noxstella Fusion monster, your opponent cannot banish cards. If there is no Noxstella Fusion Monster on the field, destroy this card. If this card is banished by the effect of a Noxstella card, you activate this effect.

This turn, any cards sent to the GY by your opponent are banished.
