Hmmm, how about one of these two buffs to keep that 5000 ATK boost....
Buff A: ''If your opponent has 30,000 or more LP, and controls no monsters: The equipped monster gains 5000 ATK. Otherwise, the equipped monster gains 500 ATK.''
Buff B: ''The equipped monster gains 5000 ATK, but any damage it inflicts becomes 500. At the end of your turn, or if this would leave the field, banish this face-down. This effect cannot be negated.''

I would rather have a 5k vanilla beater that can be normal summoned than 5 Axe of Despairs in 1, and even then, it wouldn't even be tested in a competitive environment because of the modern interactivity environment

This card's kinda funny. What's even funnier is that I actually don't think it's broken. We already have cards like Utopia Double and Accesscode that can get you all the way up to over 5,000 ATK fairly consistently, as well as Moon Mirror Shield than can allow you to beat over even a monster with, say, 1,000,000 ATK.
At least this isn't strictly better than Axe of Despair since it doesn't have that bonus effect letting you tribute a monster for a recycle.
