Some Gladiator Beast support

This is based on the Roman emperor Commodus. He was the only emperor to fight in the arena personally. He once killed 100 lions in a day, hence using Alexander as his Fusion requirement. He never killed any of his gladiatorial adversaries, that's why he cannot destroy monsters by battle. The monster would wield a bow, a favorite of the real world emperor. The animal would be an ostrich. This involves a bizarre story; he killed one in the arena, carried over its head to the Roman Senators in attendance to try to intimidate them. The Senators simply found the whole thing ridiculous and had to hold back their laughter.

This references all of the mechanisms beneath the real world Roman Collosem, including trap doors and elevators. After a battle has occurred, it ties an opponent's monster down, unable to take action till it is destroyed on your next turn. The artwork would be an underground shot, where you would see all these devices in operation.

What do you all think? How well do these help their playability? Hopefully it offers some improvement.

Gladiator Beast Commodus's effect can be shortened from:
Gladiator Beast Alexander + 1 Gladiator Beast monster
Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by shuffling the above cards you control into the deck (You do not use Polymerization). The Special Summon of this monster cannot be negated. All other Gladiator Beasts you control gain 1000 ATK. Monsters this card battles will not be destroyed. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing damage to your opponent. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card battled: You can return it to the Extra Deck, banish one card your opponent controls.

to:
"Gladiator Beast Alexander" + 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster
Must first be Special Summoned by shuffling the above cards you control into the Deck. This card's Special Summon cannot be negated. Your other "Gladiator Beast" monsters gain 1000 ATK. Monsters cannot be destroyed by battle when attacked by this card. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing damage. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card battled: You can return it to the Extra Deck; banish 1 card your opponent controls.

  • Card and archetype names are surrounded by quotation marks, so you need to say "Gladiator Beast Alexander" and "Gladiator Beast" monster with the quotation marks surrounding them
  • You no longer need to include "from your Extra Deck" when giving a fusion monster an alternate summoning condition, nor do you need to specify that the player doesn't use Polymerization. Look at Rainbow Overdragon as an example and see how that monster doesn't need to specify that its alternate summoning condition applies from the Extra Deck or that the player doesn't use Polymerization
  • "This card's Special Summon" uses less characters than "The Special Summon of this monster" and is used by modern cards like Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds as an example
  • You no longer need the "All" when making a continuous effect give other certain monsters an ATK/DEF increase/decrease. Look at Urubonus, the Avatar of Malice as an example of this. See how that monster doesn't refer to monsters with "All" when decreasing their ATK/DEF by 300
  • A monster no longer needs to include "to your opponent" in its effect that lets itself inflict piercing damage, so just saying "inflict piercing battle damage" is good enough
  • I assume the last effect returns to the extra deck as a cost. In which case, you use a semi-colon to mark the end of such costs which looks like this ; not a comma which looks like this ,
  • You can use the number 1 for that effect to banish an opponent's card, not the word one which takes up more characters

Inner Workings of the Colosseum's effect can be simplified from:
If this card is flipped face-up you can search your deck for “Colosseum – Cage of the Gladiator Beasts” and place it in your Field Zone. While this card is face-up on the field, your “Colosseum – Cage of the Gladiator Beasts” cannot be negated or destroyed. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 2, if a "Gladiator Beast" is returned to the deck or Special Summoned from the deck this turn, target one opponent's monster; it cannot attack, its effects are negated, and it cannot be used for a Fusion, Synchro, XYZ, or Link Summon.
to:
If this card is activated: You can place 1 "Colosseum – Cage of the Gladiator Beasts" from your Deck face-up in your Field Zone. The activation, effect activations, and effects of "Colosseum – Cage of the Gladiator Beasts" in your Field Zone cannot be negated, also that card cannot be destroyed. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 2, if a "Gladiator Beast" monster returned from the field to, or was Special Summoned from, the Deck this turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; it cannot attack, its effects are negated, also it cannot be used for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon.

  • Effects don't need to specify that you "search" the deck like they do in Magic The Gathering
  • I'm not yet entirely sure if the change I suggested was the correct and best way to word an effect that protects from both destruction and all negation, but that's the best way to word that that I can think of at the moment
  • Since you seemed to intend for your targeting effect to be able to activate after a previous special summon from the deck or return to the deck that turn, that effect should be a spell speed 2 effect the player can manually activate after fulfilling that condition

As for the cards' playability, they're currently really bad, I'm afraid. Alexander is godawful, too difficult to bring out and too bricky. Aside from the PSCT issues, this current fusion monster of yours isn't powerful enough to justify running that bricky main deck monster needed to bring it out.

To make it more viable, I would start by letting it be able to shuffle away the material(s) from also the player's graveyard for its special summon instead of just the player's field. That way, players can at least now try to get the Alexander into the graveyard instead of only being allowed to have it on the field in order to bring out this fusion monster.

If that's not enough, I'd also make this fusion monster banish all cards the opponent controls instead of just 1, upon return itself to the extra deck.

The Gladiator Beasts' field spell is also godawful, and this continuous trap of yours doesn't do enough to fix that. It should probably protect all your Gladiator Beast cards from destruction instead of just the field spell. Also, as a bonus, it should be able to activate the turn it is set if a copy of itself, or if that field spell, is face-up on your field or in your graveyard, which will at least incentivize players to try running that field spell again.
