Baptiste The Melodious Maestra

lv 6/Light/Fairy/Pendulum/Effect/2500 atk/2000 def

Pendulum Scale: 2/2

- Pendulum Effect

You can discard 1 "Melodious" monster, and if you do, special summon 1 "Melodious" monster with a different name from your deck or graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Baptiste The Melodious Maestra" Once per turn.

- Monster Effect

When this card is normal summoned or special summoned, you can add 1 "Melodious" monster from your deck to your hand. You can fusion summon 1 "Melodious" monster from your extra deck, by using cards from your hand, including this card, as fusion materials. You can only use each effect of "Baptiste The Melodious Maestra" once per turn.

Not my best attempt, but was trying to do some patch work for the deck and my last attempt at that resulted in some....terrible things

Its lv 6 as its the only level besides 1 that Melodious do not have covered. Its a Scale 2 to cover the lowest level of Melodious besides its hand trap, which is a lv 2. This means ill have to make a scale 9 at some point.

Now, to its pendulum effect.

Melodious has 2 different aspects; a locking aspect and a fusion aspect and they're both out of sync with each other, terribly so. As for the lock, the main problem with it is the fact that they cant consistently do it either, and if you end up with a piece in the wrong place, you'll be upset. Baptiste Pendulum effect was meant to fix clutter, by allowing you to swap one out for one you need, in a way that makes them relevant. Lets say you draw Aria and 1st Movement Solo or Sonata and Aria. You can use this to swap them out for one that matters or is at the very least helpful, not just giving the lock some consistency, but turning bricks into usable cards, something Melodious simply cannot do.

To its monster effect

The effect to add when summoned is marginally useful. Most cards you'd want in hand would be Sonata, Canon, or maybe the 2nd pendulum monster. Its there for other variants, like Artifact Melodious, so your transmodify wont be dead in hand should you draw a Sanctum and a Transmodify. The discard effect was meant to match with that of D/D Slime cards, giving you a second means to get dead cards out of your hand. To this end, its a Maestra solely for this purpose, so for once you can summon Bloom Prima.

Give me your thoughts (in a way that isn't "Melodious Lock consistent? do not want!")
