Deck Spotlight: Happy Happy Harmony

Happy Happy Harmony
https://www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=11166594
Year of Origin: Lovelitchi debuted in 2009 alongside the Anime Tamgotchi!!!, while Melodytchi debuted in 2010.
Is it real?: Yes...and yes, those are real Tamagotchi!
Ace Monster: Happy Happy Harmony
The Main Races: Fairy
The Main Attributes: FIRE
Extra Monsters: Synchro
Attack: 5/5
Defence: 2/5
Strategy: 5/5
Intellect: 5/5
Luck: 2/5
THE STORY:
Lovelitchi and Melodytchi have been friends for a long time: In fact, they were Tama Friends nearly the instant they met! One fateful day, after performing their signiture song Happy Happy Harmony in Melodytchi's hometown of Melody Kingdom, they were gifted the Melody Charms, which has the ability to spread happiness to anyone they come near! Later, they were chosen to fix the friendships across Tamatown to gather the Tama-Hearts, which could protect the Tamagotchi Planet from a deadly curse. TALK ABOUT A FREAK MEETING!!!
STRATEGY:
This deck's purpose is to bring out the powerful Happy Happy Harmony, which I think is still broken even after a few nerfs! Its topline ability is to destroy any enemy monster the instant they are summoned, forcing your opponents to waste their Spell/Trap cards on it!
To bring out Happy Happy Harmony, you'll need to use the Killer Combo. However, that does'nt mean it is on its own. The rest of the cards are focused on both getting it out and destroying any monsters that stand in your friendship! For example, Smile For Tomorrow destroys any level/rank/link 8 or lower monsters that were summoned this turn at the end of each phase, just as long as you control Lovelitchi, Melodytchi, or any FIRE Fairy Synchro or Xyz monster.
KILLER COMBOS:
To bring out Happy Happy Harmony, you need to have a monster in your hand, and to have either Lovelitchi or Melodytchi in your hand, preferably Lovelitchi as it will cost you less resources. Summon Lovelitchi and use her effect to pay 1000 LP to Special Summon Melodytchi. Tune the two together to form Lovely Day, then use her effect to destroy the monster in your hand to bring out another Melodytchi. Then, use Melodytchi's effect to discard a card to revive Lovelitchi, tune the two together to form Melody Waltz, then tune Melody Waltz with Lovely Day to form Happy Happy Harmony! If you summon Melodytchi first, you'll need to discard a card to bring out Lovelitchi, tune them to form Melody Waltz and use its effect to bring out another Lovelitchi, use Lovelitchi's effect to pay 1500 LP to revive Melodytchi, and tune them together to form Lovely Day.
Happy Happy Harmony isn't the only thing Lovelitchi and Melodytchi can bring out: Watch out for the surprise Assault Blackwing - Onimaru the Divine Thunder!

Lovelitchi's effect can be shortened from:
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can pay 1000 LP: Special Summon 1 "Melodytchi" from your hand/deck, then you can target 1 monster on the field: destroy it. Once per turn, you can pay 1500 LP, then target 1 "Melodytchi" in your GY: Special Summon it. Whenever a non-Fairy monster is destroyed, you may activate this effect: it cannot be Special Summoned from the GY until the end of this turn. When this is destroyed by a card effect, you can set 1 Spell/Trap card those card text mentions "Lovelitchi" or "Melodytchi" from your GY.
to:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can pay 1000 LP; Special Summon 1 "Melodytchi" from your hand or Deck. Once per turn: You can pay 1500 LP, then target 1 "Melodytchi" in your GY; Special Summon it. Once per Chain, if a monster leaves the field: You can target 1 card in the GY and note its name; your opponent cannot Special Summon monsters with that name from the GY for the rest of this turn. When this card is destroyed by effect: You can target 1 Spell/Trap in your GY that lists both "Lovelitchi" and "Melodytchi"; Set it.

Melodytchi's effect can be shortened from:
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can discard 1 card: Special Summon 1 "Lovelitchi" from your hand/deck, then you can target 1 monster on the field: destroy it. Once per turn, you may discard 1 card, then target 1 "Lovelitchi" in your GY: Special Summon it. Whenever a non-Fairy monster is destroyed, you may activate this effect: (Quick Effect) It cannot activate it's effects until the end of this turn. When this is destroyed by a card effect, you can set 1 Spell/Trap card those card text mentions "Lovelitchi" or "Melodytchi" from your hand/deck.
to:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 card; Special Summon 1 "Lovelitchi" from your hand or Deck. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 "Lovelitchi" in your GY; Special Summon it. Once per Chain, if a monster leaves the field: You can target 1 card in the GY and note its name; your opponent cannot activate cards or effects with that name for the rest of this turn. When this card is destroyed by effect: You can Set 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck that lists both "Lovelitchi" and "Melodytchi".

Getting a free special summon from the deck, locking the opponent out of using a specific card that shares a name with something in the graveyard, setting any 1 of the archetype's spells/traps, and getting a free destruction on top of all that, feels like too much, so these monsters should be fine just without destruction effects piled on top of all their other effects.

Happy Heart's effect can be shortened from:
Add 1 FIRE Fairy monster from your deck to your hand, then if you added "Lovelitchi" or "Melodytchi" this way, you may target 1 monster on the field: destroy it. If a FIRE Fairy monster would be destroyed, banished, or have it's effects negated; (Quick Effect) You can banish this from your GY instead.
to just:
When you activate this card, you can also target 1 monster on the field; add 1 FIRE Fairy monster from your Deck or GY to your hand, then if you added "Lovelitchi" or "Melodytchi" to your hand this way and targeted a card at activation, destroy that targeted card.

Like the previous 2 cards, this card already seems powerful enough with both a free search and free destruction packed into one card, so it shouldn't also have an additional effect on top of that that protects your monsters from destruction, banishment, and negation all at once.

Smile For Tomorrow shouldn't have the "For" in its name capitalized, and its effect can be shortened from:
At the end of each phase, if you control a face-up "Lovelitchi", "Melodytchi", or a FIRE Fairy Synchro or Xyz monster: destroy all level/rank/Link 8 or lower non-FIRE monsters on the field that were summoned this turn. You can send this from the field to the GY: take 1 FIRE Fairy monster from your GY, or 1 "Happy Heart" from your deck, and either add it to your hand, or banish it, also you can only attack with FIRE Fairy monsters this turn.
to:
At the end of each phase, if you control "Lovelitchi", "Melodytchi", or a FIRE Fairy Synchro Monster: Destroy all Level/Rank/Link 8 or lower non-FIRE monsters on the field that were Summoned this turn. You can send this card to the GY; add 1 FIRE Fairy monster or 1 "Happy Heart" from your Deck to your hand.

When making a continuous spell send itself from the field to the graveyard to activate its effect, there's no need to specify that you're sending it from the field. You can just say "send this card to the GY" without including "from the field".

Lovely Melody's effect can be simplified from:
When a "Lovelitchi", "Melodytchi", or a FIRE Fairy Synchro or Xyz monster would be destroyed: instead, destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls, then do it again at the end of the turn this was activated in. You can banish this from your GY, then target up to 3 FIRE Fairy monsters in your GY: Shuffle them into your deck, then if you shuffled 3 monsters this way, draw 1 card.
to:
When an attack is declared involving your "Lovelitchi", your "Melodytchi", or your FIRE Fairy Synchro Monster, or when a card or effect is activated that includes a card destroying effect: Negate the attack or activation, then you can destroy all your opponent's Attack Position monsters, and if this effect destroys a card, destroy all your opponent's Attack Position monsters during the End Phase of this turn. If you have a monster in your GY that lists both "Lovelitchi" and "Melodytchi": You can shuffle 5 cards from your GY into the Deck, including this card; draw 1 card.

I see no need for this effect to also include xyz monsters since this archetype has none. Also, you don't say "do it again" or destroy cards at the end of a turn itself. You destroy cards at the end phase of that turn the latest.

Happy Happy Harmony's effect can be shortened from:
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 Level 6 Non-Tuner Synchro Monster
This card's summon cannot be negated. You can only control 1 "Happy Happy Harmony". You cannot summon non-FIRE Fairy monsters, also when this is summoned, your opponent takes no damage until the end of their next turn. These effects cannot be negated. Whenever a monster is destroyed, this gains 300 ATK/DEF. Whenever your opponent summons a monster: (Quick Effect) Destroy that monster, then lose 1000 LP. This effect cannot be negated, and cards cannot be activated in response to it.

to:
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 non-Tuner Synchro Monster
This card's Summon cannot be negated. You can only control 1 "Happy Happy Harmony". After this card was Synchro Summoned, your opponent takes no damage for the rest of this turn. You cannot Summon, except FIRE Fairy monsters. Each time a monster(s) is destroyed, this card gains 500 ATK/DEF. If your opponent Summons a monster(s): Pay 1000 LP, also cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this effect activation; destroy that monster(s).

This monster's current effect gives it too much negate-proofing, so that should be toned down a bit. Also, the "non" in "non-tuner" is not capitalized. Also, 500 ATK/DEF is much easier to calculate mentally than 300, and protecting the opponent from damage for 2 turns instead of just 1 hurts this boss monster for no reason.

Lovely Day's effect can be shortened from:
1 FIRE Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner FIRE monsters
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Lovelitchi" you control as a Tuner. When this is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy 1 monster in your hand or either field: Special Summon 1 "Melodytchi" from your hand/deck. At the start of each phase, place a Melody Counter on each monster that cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects, except Fairy monsters. While this is in your field/GY, the effects of all monsters with Melody Counters on them, except FIRE Fairy monsters, are negated.

to:
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner FIRE monsters
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Lovelitchi" you control as a Tuner. When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy 1 card in your hand or on the field, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Melodytchi" from your hand or Deck. Negate the effects of face-up monsters your opponent controls that were not Summoned this turn.

Not a good idea to have effects that place counters on the opponent's cards, as that will conflict with any effects of their own that place counters on them. Also, we don't say "1 or more non-tuner" anymore. We say "1+ non-Tuner" instead.

Also, we don't "destroy" as part of costs.

Also, when letting a synchro monster treat a specific card as its tuner, you have to make the "1 Tuner" part of that synchro monster's summoning requirement generic, as every synchro monster so far in the TCG with that kind of effect does that, so you can't require the Tuner in this case to be specifically FIRE or anything.

Melody Waltz's effect can be shortened from:
1 FIRE Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner FIRE monsters
Can only be Synchro Summoned once per turn, and you cannot Link Summon the turn you summon this card. For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Melodytchi" you control as a Tuner. When this is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy 1 monster in your hand or either field: Special Summon 1 "Lovelitchi" from your hand/deck. If a monster your opponent controls would be banished, if all of the monsters you control are FIRE Fairy monsters, destroy it instead.

to:
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner FIRE monsters
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Melodytchi" you control as a Tuner. When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy 1 card in your hand or on the field, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Lovelitchi" from your hand or Deck. You can only Synchro Summon "Melody Waltz(s) once per turn. You cannot Link Summon the turn you Special Summon this card.

This is how you properly word a synchro monster to only be synchro summonable once per turn, not "Can only be synchro summoned once per turn". With that current wording, it doesn't stop the player from simply bringing out a different copy of the same synchro monster in the same turn.

Christen57's are now live! I'm quite surprised he left Happy Happy Harmony's destruction effect mostly unchanged, but with the rest of the kit changed....I wonder if they could make use of some new cards like the Tama Profys or the Melody Charms?

After testing the archetype a bit in solo mode, I can safely say that the boss monster's effect can be buffed from:
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 non-Tuner Synchro Monster
This card's Summon cannot be negated. You can only control 1 "Happy Happy Harmony". After this card was Synchro Summoned, your opponent takes no damage for the rest of this turn. You cannot Summon, except FIRE Fairy monsters. Each time a monster(s) is destroyed, this card gains 500 ATK/DEF. If your opponent Summons a monster(s): Pay 1000 LP, also cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this effect activation; destroy that monster(s).

The effect to prevent you from damaging the opponent the turn it's synchro summoned turned out to not be necessary. Rather, it could use an effect to recycle monsters such as the fusion monster, allowing things to be re-synchro summoned, or summoned back with Instant/Ready Fusion.

Here's the decklist I decided to go with at the moment. With additional extenders such as Psychic Wheelder, Double Summon, Emergency Teleport, Beetrooper Descent, Instant Fusion and Ready Fusion (for bringing out Charubin the Fire Knight), Monster Reborn, and the level 3 Danger! monsters, the deck has plenty of ways to consistently spam level 3 monsters and tuners in order for me to access the level 6 synchros even when I don't open up with either of the 2 archetype's main deck fairies. On top of that, Upstart Goblin can help thin the deck even further for more consistency, while Small World can banish Amanokujaki from the deck along with any of those other level 3 monsters from the hand (or vice versa), allowing me yet another way of accessing either of those fairies when I fail to draw any of them in my opening hand, resulting in even more consistency.

The change to Happy Happy Harmony is now live, and the deck recipe has been remembered. Who knows which spotlight he'll strike next?

Melody Waltz's effect can be buffed from:
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Melodytchi" you control as a Tuner. When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy 1 card in your hand or on the field, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Lovelitchi" from your hand or Deck. You can only Synchro Summon "Melody Waltz(s) once per turn. You cannot Link Summon the turn you Special Summon this card.

Once per turn: You can roll a six-sided die and if you roll 6, double your LP.

Since this synchro's other counterpart has a unique effect to negate effects of opponent's monsters not summoned the same turn, this synchro could also use some sort of unique effect as well, and this one could be an effect that doubles your LP if you roll a 6, allowing you to regain life points so you can keep paying to use the archetype's cards.

This change is now live, a major difference from Melody Waltz's original effect to make banished cards be destroyed instead....
