no Pay-to-Win but you still gotta pay for additional Features
It has Card Cosntruction better than the 3rd Game Boy Color Game
It's Simulation than Automated (because, Realism)
It uses the IRL Banlists than it's own so you can't worry about Maxx "C" Again
That's it aside from the Community

I can't stand the fact that many of my favorite yugitubers such as DistantCoder and Dzeeff began making content on Master Duel instead of the educational informative and interesting content they were making prior. Master Duel's negatively affecting even people like me who never use it.

While it does kinda stink that you have to pay to upload your own custom avatars, I'll still take having to pay for only that, over having to pay for cards themselves, any day.

Will try reviewing custom cards if they look interesting.

By "it" do you mean Duelingbook or Master Duel?

Well there's a better way they can do such business. I'd like to see them charge for just Master Duel itself while making all the cards in-game free instead of making it free but charging hundreds of dollars for those cards like in real life.

If that was the way they went with MD, the player base would be way smaller and there would be zero reason for them to add cards or events. If they only cared about profits then they wouldn't have semi'd Rite and Water Enchantress.

Well, there are numerous issues that range from inconsequential/could be better (like the number of background tracks which is baffling comparing MD to Duel Links, and how each of them only plays depending on the opponent's cosmetic field) to borderline unacceptable (the banlist, card releases, very poor season pass, little reason to play ranked, no proper leaderboard, and good enough to completely unbalanced special events).

The way duels themselves feel on MD is definitely the best thing about it, but the surrounding issues definitely do more harm than good.

Master Duel is handled a lot better than Duel Links.

And that's saying something.

Honestly I'm going to disagree.

Duel links gets consistent banlist updates and skill balances, events (plenty of both new and repeated ones), has more character behind it, great (and larger) OST that doesn't feel repetitive, visually looks great, and so on. The worst thing about it for sure is the pay-to-win aspect of course, but even there you can still get by without spending any or much money at all.

Short answer: because they're different formats, they serve different purposes and have their pros and cons as platforms.

I never understood why people keep making comparison of "x is better than y" when they're totally different things and there's always the "you can just play both..."

You actually do not pay for anything on duelingbook.

you can " donate" to support the site and we might let you use custom avatars and sleeves as a thank you. Obviously those who break the rules on the site dont get custom avatars and sleeves no matter how much they donate.

There is no homophobic judge.

If you prefer Edopro over DB, then leave.

What about giving players the option to get the game for free but pay for the cards, or pay for the game but get the cards for free?

youre right, there are no homophobic judges on master duel, unlike Duelingbook, thats why its better.

I explained why Genexwrecker's criticisms don't automatically make her homophobic... https://forum.duelingbook.com/viewtopic.php?p=85775#p85775

On second thought, let's assume duelingbook did have homophobic judges. How exactly would that contribute to Master Duel being better when Master Duel has no chat option and thus any homophobic people on Master Duel wouldn't be able to reveal, spread, or share their homophobia, and what's stopping the supposed homophobic judges on duelingbook from simply moving on over to Master Duel like everyone else, thus eliminating the "Master Duel has no homophobes" argument?
