Dark Cyborg: I got set to beginner for boosting. And I'm sorry for what I did. But it wasn't me. It was my brother who took my controller. And I had a blindfold on. And I wasn't even trying to boost, I just did it as a joke. Plus, I was negative boosting, so it shouldn't count. Also, my brother totally deserved it but not me, because I was the one sandbagging. And I totally wasn't trying to exploit the rated pool, even though I clearly did.

So can I be unbanned now?

I mean, the rules only state punishing positive boosting, but it should be implied that thats againts the rules.

Note how in the original post, he says "I understand the repercussions involving that account" (referring to the offending account)
This is an admission of guilt. He knows. He's known this whole time. He only pivoted to the negative boosting argument after people didn't immediately side with him.

I doesn’t mater what he means to do or how he does it. What matters is he is right.

Precisely.

He knows Negative Boosting is bad, and he is fine with the account being banned. And he knows he is responsible for it.

And if you really care about minor technicalities, please refer to "Offenses are not limited to examples given in italics."

Yes, but they are limited by the non-italicized green phrase which specifically states “gain”

How much must I say it. He knew what was happening with his FRIEND was wrong. And, people make mistakes 1 mistake doesn’t justify a ban from rated at all, if it isn’t even in the rules.

By joining the site, he agreed to the rules. And FYI any Admin can ban anyone for any reason and for how long. Same with every other service, you hold 0 power in the matter.

I think the fact he's getting punished isn't necessarily the issue to be honest. If someone is breaking the rules non-maliciously surely there should be some leeway in stead of giving him the second worst punishment on the website. Looking at real life as an example manslaughter and murder are both actions that result in the death of someone but the manslaughter charge has the smaller punishment. Why? Because it was non-intentional and surely the same thing should apply in his case

There are less severe punishments on 2nd chances on less severe offences.
And he technically didn’t break the rules.

He did break the rules, it isn't up for debate.

In his original post they understands that rules WERE broken. What is up for debate there is their punishment.

Not that it's super relevant, but I can't help but notice that he keeps flipping between referring to "his friend's account" and then making statements such as "I only boosted as a joke" or "I had no intention of boosting for personal gain."

This makes me suspicious that:
1. There is no "friend." It's just him, and his alt account.
2. He is familiar with the concept of boosting, and had full knowledge that what he was doing may not be fully legitimate.

But this is just speculation, simply based on what has been posted up to this point.

It definitely is not against the rules. Boosting is only positive.
