Links in MR3 are weird, but if both players agree they can sort of be used. I don't know if DB allows Links in a deck when attempting to join a EMZ-less duel

I think you can if you have a friend without links host a tag duel, and you join them with links, and the two of you join another pair of classic players, the game may let you play in that 2v2 game with your links even though you're in classic mode, although it's possible that it may have been patched now but I haven't tested it yet to confirm.
