In middle school. Everyone was trying to emulate the anime, strategy be damned, so everything felt samey. Some kids understood the game better and actually used different strategies and stomp the anime emulation players.

In an LGS. Everyone ran the same 35 cards in a deck so everything felt samey

For me, I was in elementary school. And much like the anime which didn't have set rules that were followed (season 1), we just added our own rules. But we had fun :P

Let's see, I started in 2005, around the time Flaming Eternity came out; but I was a complete total utter noob-with-zeroes and had a mishmash deck, and didn't know jack about anything.


And all my friends wonder why I have long-term deep-seated self-hatred issues to this day..... :roll:
