TCG February 2022 banlist

Post #1 by chaseer » Thu Jan 27, 2022 11:08 pm

Sauce: https://ygorganization.com/goodbyeiohellosnow/

Newly Forbidden
Archnemeses Protos - New (This has been taken advantage by the new Swordsoul Tenyi deck, which essentially locks the opponent from Special Summoning certain monsters.)
Eva - From Limited (It still won't do much to Drytrons as they still have the one Benten they can use, but it will hurt the consistency. They should've outright banned Benten.)
Simorgh, Bird of the Sovereignty - New (Given how immensely popular the Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade is in setting up negate boards, it only makes sense to ban this one. It can either setup a Vanity's Emptiness style monster, or a one-turn lolnope monster that keeps coming back.)
Imperial Order - From Limited (Now this is a bit of a surprise. While it was welcoming for it to come off the Forbidden list when it was errata'd, I guess its too much once again for TCG players. I don't agree with this move, but oh well.)

Newly Limited
Destrudo the Lost Dragon's Fissure - From Forbidden (I guess since Firewall Dragon has been errata'd, it should be safe to move this card once again. It could bolster Rokket deck but it remains to be seen.)
Fairy Tail - Snow - From Forbidden
Astrograph Sorcerer - From Forbidden (Pendulums on the rise? As long as Electrum remains banned though.)
Lunarlight Tiger - From Forbidden
Lyrilusc - Recital Starling - New (This will hurt the consistency of Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade a lot, as it is a searcher for both archetypes.)
Monster Gate - New (EDIT: This was meant to hit Ruinforce FTK that suddenly made a scene in recent competitions. For more info about how Ruinforce FTK works, here's the link.)
Pot of Desires - New

Newly Semi-Limited
A Hero Lives - From Limited (Lets see whether this will actually help the HERO decks.)
Fusion Destiny - New (Looks like TCG has finally noticed a potential problem with Dragoon, but its not enough. Outright ban should do like what OCG did.)
Nadir Servant - New
Salamangreat Circle - From Limited (Just free this one already.)
Scapegoat - From Limited.

No longer on the list
Danger! Nessie! - From Semi-Limited
Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon - From Limited
Performapal Skullcrobat Joker - From Semi-Limited
Emergency Teleport - From Semi-Limited
Raigeki - From Limited
Skill Drain - From Limited

Skill Drain is fine at 3, just like Mystic Mine. Run backrow disruption.

Edited the reasoning for Monster Gate to go to 1. Didn't realize that it was used for Ruinforce FTK

Damn, can't believe they're going to ban Cyber-Stein again.
