IF a link monster would be flipped face down by a card effect, what is the resolve of that action????

Link Monsters cannot be flipped face-down. You cannot target them for an effect like Book of Moon. Non-targeting effects that flip cards face-down, such as Book of Eclipse, simply do not affect Link Monsters.

Flip face-down and other defense position effects on Link monsters are akin to level-related effects on Xyz monsters, they simply ignore the effect as they have no way of interacting with it.
