So the situation can be seen here: https://www.duelingbook.com/replay?id=6162-37240483
Basically the question I have is this: I know for certain I can't activate the Flip Effect, but If the monster is flipped face-up during the chain, can the "leaves the field" trigger effect activate in this situation?
Thank you for your time.

It should be able to in this case, yes.
It flipped when resolving cl2 and destroyed in cl1, and you wanted to use the floating effect. It was face-up when it was destroyed so it should activate, but I don't know whether you also get the flip effect, which is probably why they were confused and talking about how "cards need to be where they trigger"

You were correct in the replay. I imagine they thought that the floating effect was still part of the flip-effect, which it obviously isn't.

To be fair Immortal of Thunder for instance is worded poorly in its errata, which comes off as being worded like Krawlers, but the way it works is it being tied to its Flip effect. So I can understand where the confusion can come in.
