Setting your card on an opponent's field, then having their partner remove it, causes it to appear in their graveyard

Post #1 by Christen57 » Fri Jun 11, 2021 3:40 am

Today I had a tag duel where I set one of my copies of "Cup of Ace" on my opponent's field, then when it was their partner's turn and that partner ended up activating that "Cup of Ace" making me draw 2 cards, then that partner tried to send "Cup of Ace" to the graveyard after they were done resolving it, they claimed that the "Cup of Ace" appeared in their graveyard on their screen, even though on my screen and in the logs, it shows "Cup of Ace" went to my graveyard.

[5:00] Christen57: "?"
[5:05] Christen57: "it went to my grave"
[5:05] MLNS: Activated "Bandatary Revival Ground" from hand (5/7)
[5:09] MLNS: "weird"
[5:14] MLNS: "on my screen it went to my grave"
[5:21] Christen57: "can you screenshot it"
[5:38] MLNS: Normal Summoned "Sitesea Captain" from hand (5/6) to M-3

[5:44] MLNS: Declared effect of "Bandatary Revival Ground" in S-3
[5:49] MLNS: Viewed deck
[5:59] MLNS: "i'll do it after my turn ends"

Unfortunately, the player forgot to screenshot it, so I couldn't verify if what they were saying was true. Still, I decided to try and replicate this bug just in case that player was telling the truth, and sure enough, I was able to replicate it, as another player in another tag duel also ended up claiming, and showed screenshots proving, that my cards were indeed appearing in their graveyard, on their screen, instead of appearing in my own graveyard.

This is the screenshot they shared, showing the card in their graveyard on their screen:

As you can see, that copy of "Level Up!" originally came from my hand, yet when my opponent's partner tried sending it to the graveyard, it appeared in their graveyard instead of my own graveyard. Though on my screen, it was still showing the spell card in my graveyard, and on top of that, the person who sent the spell to the graveyard was the only person seeing it in their graveyard on their screen. Everyone else, including their partner and myself, were seeing it in my graveyard, where it should be.

This is the screenshot I shared, showing the card in my graveyard on my screen, where it is supposed to be:

This is the screenshot the other player shared, also showing the card in my graveyard, where it's supposed to be, meaning the player who manually sent the spell to the graveyard was the only player seeing the card in their graveyard instead of mine, on their screen, while everyone else including myself was seeing the spell in my graveyard where it's supposed to be:

I asked the turn player to banish the spell from "their" graveyard, and they were able to do so, showing the banished in their possession instead of mine, on their screen:

However, on the turn player's partner's screen (and also my screen), it still showed the card being in my possession banished:

What's even more strange was that when I moved the card out of my graveyard, and back onto the field, into my spell & trap zone, on my screen it showed the card being on my field:

However, on my opponent's screen (the turn player's screen), it still showed the card being in the graveyard:

So to replicate this glitch, have a tag duel where player 1 and player 2 team up against player 3 and player 4, have either player 1 or player 2 go first, have the player going first move a spell card from their hand/deck to the opponent's field, have that opponent move and set that card to their own spell & trap zone, have player 1 or 2 (whoever went first) end the turn so that player 3 or 4 begin their turn, have the new turn player attempt to send the set card on the field to the graveyard, and then on that new turn player's screen, it should appear as if the card went to the sender's graveyard instead of the owner's graveyard.
