Bring back old avatars?

My account has a Gemini Elves avatar from when the site first launched. It's come to my attention that the avatar is no longer able to be selected, but it still displays as usual. I think any removed avatars like this should be made available again. I'm afraid to ever try another avatar knowing I won't be able to get the gemini elves one back.
