Rps is an official method for deciding turn order in Yugioh, it has appeared in various Yugioh games. Duel Links and Master Duel use coin flips because they want to be faster (and boy do they need to be).
Second, you don't need the dice to choose a random card from the opponent's hand, people just get salty about being unlucky.

well dice should never be used for duo so thats a mute point.
you have no idea how long we have been fighting to try and get dice roll or even an automated coin toss to decide first or second randomly but its a losing battle.

The policy documents say that both players must agree on the method. RPS is an acceptable method that the players may agree to, but I would not agree to it. For one thing, irl RPS is very different from virtual RPS. And it is more psychological than random, it is exposed to players' biases & preconceptions. Additionally, in the video games, the ai is choosing at random unlike a pvp platform like this.
