Automatic AFK Loss and possible punishment

Post #1 by ThatSaltyguy » Tue May 14, 2024 6:36 pm

Instead of leaving it to the few judges to take care of the simple stuff, let's make it a part of the website that each player has to take an action within a certain amount of time. An action can be anything - clicking the "thinking" button, thumbs up, shuffling the hand, etc. After a certain amount of time, maybe 3-5 minutes of a user being AFK, the opponent can click the AFK button. After the AFK button is pressed, if another 1-2 minutes pass without any action taken, the person who is AFK automatically loses the match or game. This will alleviate any burden on the judges for AFK calls, as well as preventing situations like what has happened to me today. Keep the current afk judge call just in case someone abuses this and just holds you hostage pressing buttons and not playing. Even further since it would be an optional button if two people are taking a long time to play and they both know the other is there its an option not to press the afk button. There are currently no judges online, and I've had three games where people are just AFK from the start. "Drident2012" was the latest opponent that went AFK from the start, that game just ended because the opponent disconnected after 18.5 mins with zero actions in between . also have it count negatively against their account as well if there is enough of them they can have their account banned or suspended . emergency's are not an excuse either you can click quit in an instant and shutting down the computer disconnects you from the website and the disconnect timer will come on.

Im not talking about the disconnect timer im talking about an afk button not an afk judge call button two separate buttons an afk button does not exist and the only thing that times people out is if they tab out of the browser they get disconnected after 5 because of how browsers work but if they leave it open the game will just stay connected. this does not exist
