Adding a "thinking" button

Post #1 by Yosh2097 » Fri Jul 06, 2018 5:32 pm

Hello, sometimes it happens that it's not very clear if the opponent wants to respond with a card or not to your action and if you can proceed. Of course, all you gotta do is type in the chat that you're currently thinking, but as these situations happen more often, it can get a bit tiring. I think that something like an icon that when clicked automatically says in the chat something like "(nickname) is thinking", and maybe another one that says in the chat something like "(nickname) doesn't want to activate anything in response", would be a nice solution. Thank you.

This just unnecessarily clutters the already cramped UI. Just write "k" or "hold" and communicate with your opponent. If they choose not to heed your communication and attempting to halt gameplay when you type it, they're not going to care when the system types it for you either. Should that happen, you call a judge and wait.

Strike Ninja wrote:Personally I think this idea is useless for multiple reasons.
1) You got to click a button which will process a command script that inserts the (thinking) heading, causing a longer relay in commands.
2) it's easy to type (wait) further it's also easy to establish a code. (When I type "T" without quotes I am thinking) for instance would make it so all you have to do is type T and hit enter.
3) I personally dislike anything that reminds me of automated prompts, and this seems close to the "you opponent set a card, do you wish to chain" that I see on nexus all the time.
4) I personally think it's a waste of coding space to code it into the site, even though it's highly likely to be doable I would oppose it.

I thought about it, and given how it's not rare for Duelingbook to lag, i can definitely see how this idea would not really help to speed up the process. Thanks
