The ability to create/upload profile songs has been removed by the owner(s) of duelingbook. As of December 2022, this guide no longer works, but I will keep it archived.

Step 1; Copy the link of the youtube video

Step 2; Go to http://www.onlinevideoconverter.com and click on "Convert a video link Url"

Step 3; Paste the link of the youtube video and click "Start"

Step 4; Wait for it to finish processing

Step 5; Right click on the "Download" button and click "Copy Link Address"

Step 6; Paste it in Dueling Book's Song Url and click "Save Song"

[size=150]You can use any website that lets you convert youtube videos to mp3 downloads such as http://www.flvto.biz, https://ytmp3.cc/,https://www.mp3converter.net/, or http://convert2mp3.net/en/. I only used onlinevideoconverter to demonstrate. Just make sure that, after you paste the link to the youtube video and convert it to mp3, you right click on the website's "Download" button and Copy the Link Address.

It has come to my attention that https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/ has been either hacked or shut down. Attempting to visit the site now will give you an error message:

No worries. I have found a different website that we can use: https://www.fastconv.com/

This site seems to be fast compared to most other sites that let you convert youtube videos to mp3 files. What you would do with onlinevideoconverter, you do with this new site, which is go to any youtube video that you want to make into your profile song, copy the link to that video, then paste the link of that youtube video into the box that says "Enter a valid URL:" and then click "Convert It!"

Then you right click the "Download your converted file" button and click "Copy link address".

After that, you paste it into the "Song URL:" box in your Settings on duelingbook and click "Save Song".

That's it.

The site https://www.fastconv.com/ was recently updated so that it no longer works with this guide and the flvto.biz, mp3converter.net, and convert2mp3.net sites also not longer work for this guide either, which means we have to use another new site for this guide.

The new site I've decided to go with is https://ytformp3.com.

You simply go to this site, then paste the youtube video url in it's box that says "Enter a valid URL".

Then click "Convert!"

After it's done, right click on the box that says "128 kbps" and click "Copy link address".

Keep in mind that, on some other browsers like firefox, it will instead be referred to as "Copy Link Location".

After you copy that, paste it in into the "Song URL" box on your in your duelingbook Settings and click "Save Song".

Previously, this was an issue with the websites I was using to convert the youtube video(s) to mp3. Now, this seems to be an issue with duelingbook itself — an issue that Xteven needs to fix — as I can't seem to save ANY mp3 as my profile song on duelingbook at the moment, even when I make sure that the song URL ends in .mp3 like it wants me to.

You can fix it with javascript

I believe in you, as I won't do it on my extension for obvious reasons.

It certainly is both 1 less thing to store in DB and 1 less thing that might get companies wanting to take the site down
