Re: Some card that should have special options
This is one thing that bothered me since DN. I understand why switching GY's isn't an option since that is a manga/anime card. But a real card that has been in the tcg since before Yugioh GX should at least be functional. Especially when the main character of the first show uses it multiple times.

Re: Superheavy Samurai Battleball
SRN is correct. It doesn't say to ignore conditions but it also doesn't say that the cards are materials, nor does it say what the required monsters must be, only which side of the field they must be. I see why the judge may have made this mistake as it is worded similar to the way the rulebook word...

Re: Flip monster question
Raigeki is spell speed 1 and doesn't target. However, let's pretend you had a card that was a quickplay spell that said "target 1 monster on the field; destroy it." as an example. Say a spell speed 2 card targets a set flip monster as chain link 2 and you played this example quickplay to i...

Re: Honest in Damage Step
It is an effect that changes ATK/DEF so it can be activated during the damage step. Any card effect that alters those values can be activated during the damage step unless the card says otherwise. This is always the case and is stated in the official rulebook.

Re: Mind Crush - & An Admin problem
If he had guessed the name of a real card but meant a different card, that would count as him calling it wrong, but if he called a card by using slang, fan names, or simple typos/misspellings, but it is obvious as to what he meant, it is considered correct. Konami wouldn't want players raging becaus...

Re: Couple rulings I need clarified.
Solemn strike can negate scarecrow as it is an activated monster effect. When you excavate card, the easiest way I have found is to banish them face-up. This way your opponent can see them as well as you. The banish pile is used less than the GY so you are less likely to lose the card. Banishing als...

Re: Cyber Dragon Infinity negated summon
Basically, Infinity says that you can xyz summon one card of its name using nova. If you attempt to do this, but the summon is negated, it still counts as if you summoned it for that effect. This is similar to if a hard once per turn effect is negated or the activation of a card that has a hard once...

Re: Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
In 2020 in is not a good one. GY effects are common. Ash only works on things relating to the deck. If it doesn't say "deck" in its text, ash cannot negate it. Plenty of meta cards follow this. Even when it comes to cards that do say "deck" it is limited. If it banishes from the ...

Re: Morphing Jar Database Citations
Exactly. Priority only occurs with activations. Exodia's effect is not an activation. It is like a cross between a trigger and continuous effect. Meaning it is immediately applied when possible regardless of timing or conditions, cannot be negated, and does not impact or start chains.

Re: Utopia rulings
If the wording is correct, the answer is yes. Utopia would have 5200. However, once Double or Nothing's bonus ends, Utopia will have 2700.

Re: Gorgonic Gargoyle Interactions
Since it says "when", I believe that if your opponent chains to the normal summon, you cannot summon gargoyle. However, gargoyle doesn;t start a chain so I may be wrong. I do know that summoning gargoyle doesn't chain block effects that start a chain. Hope this helps.

Custom card ruling: two wicked avatar clones
If I have two different monsters that each have the effect of the wicked avatar to have atk/def equal to the atk of the strongest monster +100, what would their totals be. Would they consider each other, and if they do, would that lead to an atk/def gaining loop.
