I feel the best Custom card design is to take a gimmick and/or theme (such as Spell Monsters), and run with it, while providing limitations on their ability to be abused such as hard once per turn restrictions, and restriction to Extra Deck summoning

Anti-Shuffle is better Mistake, POG is better Ancient Leaf, Disdiscard costs too much to negate, why would they Delinquent Dou themselves, Duckalama should have a once per turn on its recursion to avoid easy Link abuse, Gornazes makes Mezuki, among other monsters, extremely abuseable without a form ...

I feel it could be unlimited because all good modern ritual spells do more than just Ritual Summon. For example, Nekroz Ritual Spells can search themselves and Impcantation Inception is almost this card in addition to being able to summon an Impcantation from deck

You've clearly spent enough time making custom cards to forget what real cards do and why they are banned/limited to begin with. You clearly want a format like 2003 where there were normally only a few actions performed per turn. Get with the times and embrace the power cards and handtraps

Basically every good ritual deck has Ritual Spells that do more than the Old School Ritual Spells did for their monsters. Now that we have cards like Pre-Prep a catch-all Ritual Spell like this feels perfectly balanced

Just use filtered searches to see what cards can be searched or summoned with other specific cards.
