I like official rules, with links and pendulum zones added, but the share-field thing is probably easier to implement

You can use both of their effects in a chain. Missing the timing would be like, say Ultimate Offering summmoned the monster in chain link 2, then neither effect could activate based on the text you provided.

It doesn't stop effects from forming a chain together.

I would very much like option B. A further suggestion would be to allow designating a set ID and allow searching cards by set, so that formats with custom cards could be created. (Example how TCG cards have a set ID like LOB, MRD, etc.. allow that for custom cards to group them together)
