Re: New Custom Archetype: Cornestia

Deck/Archetype: https://www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=8751753 name origin: Latin: corneum (horn) + bestia (beast) I kind of feel bad for you, probably you didn't want this thread to turn into dumpster fire, so I asked a friend if they wanted to review the archetype and they said yes. This is what the...

I'm leaving DB and the Forums for good

It has been a pleasure here - especially with the custom cards. I know that parting can hurt, but it's for the best. I learned that DB isn't a good site for people to make custom cards as those archetypes can be very unbalanced. DB has been affecting my psyche lately, so I've decided to quit DB whil...

Re: Demented Beast Theme: Need some help

Overall, I think that this is an epic archetype and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the monsters. The effects are quite cool and I don't think they are too OP. I just noticed one thing. You misspelled the word 'card' in the defence position effect of 'Demented Beast - Slibinas'; you wrot...

Re: Feedback on my archetype

Using a cont. Spell for the Fusion Summon of an archetypal monster is very interesting indeed.

Re: Alchemy-themed archetype

Why do we need another Invoked mechanic? Didn't we see enough of it being splat in many decks. Are we going to replace Aleister+Invocation with this Alkahest cards in custom duels? No, of course not. Beside what is the lore of this copy Aleister, we know his young, mid & later life stories. Sin...

Re: Custom Archetype FAIRY Tail

This archetype's mechanic is not very clear because from those cards, I can't tell what it wants to do besides spam. Without a common core mechanic defining an archetype, the archetype becomes incoherent, meaning that you would have to make more cards to get the archetype to work.

Re: Phoenix Archetype. Cards are public. Give Feedback. :3

I feel that the Phoenix archetype is lacking in mechanics and functionality. You see, if an archetype's mechanic is spam, that is not a mechanic at all because all archetypes spam to some degree. The Phoenix archetype does not have a unique game plan other than spam which is quite boring. I hope thi...

Re: Speed, Power, and Consistency - The 3 Main Things I Look At To Determine How Balanced A Custom Archetype/Deck Is

11 disruptions is too much for an endboard for an archetype. Usually the standard value is 2 or 3 disruptions.

Re: Element Deck

What is the main gimmick? If you are just making elements for the sake of making them then they will be or a) busted or b) weak. These look like they lost the north, not Having the best of synergies. Every archetype needs a mechanic as the glue to hold it together, with the mechanic enabling the ar...

How high are you

Angry, not high. But not to james123, but Parhelia himself. So whether this Trap is troll, or insulting me, does not matter to me at the moment. My current fury is with that CM copied, Parhelia.

parhelia has no concept of balance

I agree.

Re: Custom Archetype (Golden Pentragon)

Any archetype that is made needs a mechanic as the glue to hold it together.
Without this "glue", the archetype is very incoherent and inconsistent.

Re: Element Deck

An archetype needs to have an identity. Without an identity, the archetype will be broken or weak, mostly pertaining to the former. It needs a sense of what it wants to do. Without this, we have an archetype whose cards do their own thing.
